CommScope Technical Family Webinar

Please join us for the next CommScope Technical Family webinar, “Cabling Test Results Management” on May 11th.

The final step and end goal in a project is normally providing the Site Warranty Certificate to the customer. One of the critical aspects that is part of the validation process is the analysis of the test results, to achieve the CommScope 25 Year Extended Product and Application Warranty. Poorly managed or badly organized data can delay approval or even result in the rejection of the warranty. This webinar will discuss how test results are reviewed and give you visibility of the classic “do’s” and “don’ts” when managing your results. Join us for this session as we go through what makes for a successful warranty submission.

Solution and Product Updates

NEW! CommScope introduces a ULL Fiber Performance Calculator.

The online Ultra-Low Loss Fiber Performance Calculator has been launched to offer quick and accurate calculations of the link or channel loss in an innovative manner. This tool allows network engineers and infrastructure planners to now be able to check supported distances for current and future high-speed Ethernet (400G, 800G and 1.6 Terabit) and fiber channel applications (128GFC, 256GFC). The results can be logged in the weblink above and shared via email. The calculator supports the latest MPO-16 connector type alongside the existing MPO-8, MPO-12 and MPO-24 connector types, thereby giving you all the different MPO configurations that the CommScope Propel™ system supports.

ERA® - UAP2

CommScope’s all-digital ERA distributed antenna system makes in-building wireless simpler and more economical. Operating on standard IT infrastructure—Category 6A and fiber—these solutions allow operators, neutral hosts and enterprises to provide high capacity with “five bars” of in-building coverage. How do you support 5G TDD? CommScope’s new ERA UAP2 can provide the spectrum frequencies needed. The CommScope UAP2 provides the following:

  • 2x2 MIMO RF Modules
  • Internal Omni Antenna
  • 2 band and 4 band access points
  • 24dBm per path per RF modules
  • Support CAT 6A or fiber
  • Total bandwidth of 640 MHz with 2 fiber pair/ CAT 6A

Standards Byte

At the end of February, the International Standards Organization (ISO) members met on a virtual meeting to discuss several upcoming Standards, which will go to national vote in a later stage. Members from CommScope participated and are actively involved as project leaders.

CommScope is helping with Sustainability ISO/IEC 14763-5, part of the implementation and operation Standards series. As the name suggests, it’s about choosing sustainable products, reducing waste and establishing metrics to evaluate cabling sustainability.

CommScope has been working for years to make our solutions sustainable and reduce single-use plastic.
