CommScope Technical Family Webinar |
Please join us for the next CommScope Technical Family webinar, “Power Up! Best Practices for Power Over Datacom Infrastructure” on March 9th.
Remote powering of devices on the network has become common place in the market. The way a solution is engineered has raised questions around Standards vs Codes and industry best practices.
In this webinar, we will discuss the non-AC power platforms, which include PoE, DC and Digital Power. There will be a focus on the benefits of commonly used platforms, risk mitigation, best design practices for installation, and how Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) view these systems.

Grounding and Bonding Standards
In November 2022, the CommScope Technical Family webinar discussed the Grounding and Bonding Standards. If you missed the presentation, it was recorded in 11 different languages and can be found by clicking here.
We discussed the assessment and then the different options like local bonding, mesh bonding and how the local regulations including safety shall be met according to the International Standardization Organization (ISO) document ISO/IEC 30129, the installation standard IEC 14763-x and the governing structured cabling standards IEC IS 11801 series.
We also showed the difference between safety and Bonding for IT Networks and what happens from an EMC perspective, with the different MICE environments.
The last topic was the separation between power and data cables in order to be compliant to IEC 14763-2 and most of the local laws. In addition to the webinar please use the following supporting documents or ask your local CommScope system engineer.
In today’s world of high-speed communication, it is critical to build and deploy networks at rapid speeds. For the Hyperscale, Cloud, MTDC and Enterprise business that needs to support mass amounts of data: a quick and efficient solution in building out the networks is utilizing rollable ribbon fiber. Rollable ribbon fiber is flexible, collapsible, and easily controlled during mass fusion splicing. Rollable ribbon fiber also reduces the overall diameter of the fiber cable, enabling twice the density a customer can safely pack into a standard conduit compared to traditional loose tube fiber. The CommScope rollable ribbon fiber cable is sturdy with a Telcordia GR-20 crush rating.
