CommScope Technical Family Webinar

Join us for the next CommScope Technical Family webinar, “Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) Systems: Standards, Business Benefits and Use Cases” on July 11th.

The ISO/IEC 18598 standard for Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) system defines it as an “integrated hardware and software system that automatically detects the insertion or removal of cords, documents the cabling infrastructure including connected equipment enabling management of the infrastructure and data exchange with other systems.” This standard acknowledges the critical importance that AIM technology plays, with its varied and powerful capabilities from connectivity management to integration with external systems, and processes in the planning, administration, and growth of enterprise networks.

In this webinar, we will provide a detailed review of the ISO/IEC 18598 (AIM) standard, highlight AIM references in several major cabling and data center standards, discuss business benefits from customers using AIM systems, and explore how the adoption of AIM systems can facilitate continual contributions towards corporate sustainability objectives.

Solutions and Product Updates

The GigaREACH™ XL solution is launched as part of our SYSTIMAX® 2.0 product line. This solution will support applications beyond 100m such as the below.

CommScope offers a ceiling connector assembly (CCA). No special tools are required for installation.

The ceiling connector supports the channel specifications of SYSTIMAX GigaSPEED® X10D, GigaSPEED XL and PowerSUM U/UTP solutions, as well as Uniprise® and NETCONNECT® U/UTP solutions. The CCA-CAT6A supports the channel specifications for all of CommScope’s Category 6A/Class EA U/UTP infrastructure solutions. The CCA-CAT6 supports the channel specifications for all of CommScope’s Category 6/Class E as well as Category 5e/Class D U/UTP infrastructure solutions.

Key Features and Benefits

Micro Air Blown Fiber

Fiber optic installation in an outdoor environment can either be done by pulling or blowing. In a campus environment, it may be feasible to lay several small ducts from the different buildings, in order to blow in fiber optic cables in a later stage.

The micro air blown fiber is available in 2-24 fibers in a cable with an outer diameter of 2.5mm and blowable more than 1km.

CommScope’s low friction microduct cables are available in 2-24 fibers with an outer jacket diameter of 3.9mm. These cables can be used for 7/4mm or 10/6mm ducts.

The 288 singlemode fiber cable solution, with an outer diameter of 9.5mm, will work with larger duct sizes like the 16/13mm size.
